Drum roll please. Chuko opened last week in Prospect Heights and is the highly anticipated ramen restaurant from Morimoto vets Jamison Blakenship and David Koon. Chuko’s casual former diner space (and name, meaning “sechondand”) seats 35 for slurping Japanese noodles, veggie and meat alike. But that’s not all. Sink your teeth into steaming pork gyoza and then cool the tongue with Ample Hills ice-cream-based sammies. They will jump-start with late night dine-in dinner and hopefully expand to lunch hours on the weekends. On your mark, get set, and be ready to go/run to this ramen joint. 552 Vanderbilt Avenue at Dean Street, Prospect Heights. (Photo: Pork gyoza, via Chuko)
