Park Slopers can get the first taste of Top Chef Dale Talde this fall. Talde will be opening his highly anticipated Asian-American style restaurant – named Talde – on Seventh Avenue at 11th Street in Park Slope with Thistle Hill Tavern partners John Bush and David Massoni. While the final product is yet to be revealed, reports of a cohesively hodge-podge menu of Southeast Asian, Chinese and Japanese cuisines abound.
Beginning with dinner offerings, and hopefully expanding into brunch and lunch, the focus will be on Brooklyn-based ingredients and what the discerning locals demand Talde fans can expect anything from Korean-style spicy fried chicken and crispy oyster-bacon pad thai, to vegan ramen and cold brothy tomato soup.
But one thing is certain; Talde likes it hot, amply incorporating Siracha sauce and Korean chiles whenever possible. The space is said to hold 70, but its hopeful popularity may beg the need for outdoor seating overflow. Let’s see if the Slope is ready for some spice!
