Master Burger on Smith

(Photo: via Facebook)

Name swapping from Burgersmith, Burger on Smith opened on that street corner previously occupied by Asian-fusion Faan Restaurant at the end of January. The zen decor remains in this elevated burger joint brought by chefs Blessing Schuman-Strange and Kyle Huebbe. With a few starters and salads ($6-10), the meat of the menu is, well, meat - daily ground grass-fed beef to be exact. Order your cast-iron-pressed patty as one of their 12 creations like the self-explanatory “Trademark”,  with the beef boasting a horseradish-chive aioli with cheddar and bib greens on a Portuguese muffin (the bread imported from Cape Cod). Or DIY and build your burger with type of meat, bread, and choices of cheese (teleggio!), sauce (harissa!) and toppings (cucumber-mint salad!). With brunch in the making, the sustainable and creative offerings (and hot wings, to boot) are enough to make you skip Shake Shack and graze on over to Smith. (Burgers $9-13) 209 Smith Street, Cobble Hill
