Whether you’re looking for something special for that someone special, you’re still on the prowl for a Valentine’s Day date, or you’re looking to spoil yourself this week because, well, who else is going to?, the Withering Frost Business Association’s Block Party will have you covered. On Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm, eleven businesses in the two block radius on Graham Avenue between Richardson and Meeker in Williamsburg have come together to bring you a free block party (well technically everything happens in-store and leaks onto the sidewalk) with cheap merchandise, free drinks and hor dourves, and a Thursday night more exciting than the one you had planned.

Favorite local shops like Alter, County Fair (30-50% off everything), Moves (10-60% select items), Orange Marmalade (30-50% off everything), Salefax, and King Kog will all be offering discounts and free booze inside. Tree House will add in custom nail art by Philly-based artist Nail Tite, while Beaner Bar will serve cheap coffee to sweeten the deal.  At 8pm gender-bending Brooklyn-based artist Colin Self will perform in Moves’ windows. Daddy’s will serve two-for-one drink specials on select drinks and host an after party. Fanny will have discounted French bistro fare. If you’re without a Valentine this season, the sheer amount of sales and free cocktails should be enough to help you forget. But, if not, Blue Stove will not only serve up their regular selection of pies, which are always the perfect way to soothe your sorrows, they will also be matchmaking inside.

Come single, come committed. If you don’t leave with a date, you should at least leave pleasantly buzzed, full, and with some of the best goods Williamsburg has to offer.
