Unless you've been hibernating - in a cave somewhere, we know you've heard about the great New-Orelans style all-out stuff your face and drink 'til you burst outdoor Googa Mooga fest, hitting up Prospect Park May 19 and 20.
So, we'll skip the food and drink part and instead inform you about their long-anticipated music lineup. Get ready to rock out city slickers, because you're going to get a dose of some soul, gospel, jazz, punk, indie rock and cover bands. And drumroll please... Philly's own Daryl Hall and John Oates will be blessing our Prospect Park with their presence. Who knew?!
And you know we have to shout out The Roots and Questlove, shaking things up Saturday, May 19. Other confirmed performers include Motown/Stax-influenced Fitz and The Tantrums, the electro dance magic of Holy Ghost!, New Orleans-based Preservation Hall Jazz Band, funk and R&B master Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, conga sensation Pedrito Martinez, disco by Escort, church sounds from Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens, indie-pop sounds from Bear Hands, psych-beats of Portland, OR's Unknown Mortal Orchestra, all-female cover band Lez Zeppelin, Japanese atomic comic punk band Peelander-Z and two of our own indie rock bands - Fort Lean and Lucius.
So while you're gorging on the food and drink of 75 restaurants & vendors, 35 brewers, and 100 wines just know that it's also okay for you to show off your dance moves too!
